Smokey and Brenda, I just wanted to tell you both, every time I got to come and listen to yalls beautiful music, and talk to yall, it loaded my heart sing. You are such wonderful, loving people, and so much goodness flows from both of you. I’ve been sick and live in northern VA, and soon to be 78, but if I ever can come to listen again and hug you both, it will be a dream come true for me! I met Smokey and Brenda when I went with Pappy and Sandy to Refuge Church years ago and for the past several years Smokey has blessed me at Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach celebrating my birthday as a Fund Raiser for Kingsway. On Saturday October 26 ,2024 he will be helping me Celebrate my 89th birthday as I retired as Kingsways director, but am still serving as a volunteer and fund raiser for the ministry. Our goal is to share Jesus Christ and Smokey does a great job singing and sharing Jesus in his life and his music. We love Smokey and Brenda.
Husband Pappy and I were introduced to Smokey's ministry through David & Brenda Lambert at Refuge Church in Stephens City, VA, a bunch of years ago. Since then we have done all we can to attend every concert within any reasonable driving distance of Staunton, VA. His music ministry is an amazing blessing; his talent is great and definitely God-given; his love and caring for people are clearly evident; and his integrity and generosity are genuine and exceptional. He and wife Brenda are an inspiring, well-coordinated team who greatly bless us every time we see them. Smokey has very generously donated his time and talent over the past several years with benefit concerts for the Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach prison ministry. As is typical for him, he never asks for anything in return or as payment. He is truly obedient to God's calling on his life in his ministry, and we thank God for the ways He is using Smokey to further His kingdom. Long story short... we love you!!!
Smokey the first time I heard you sing was at my grandmother‘s funeral Sarah Staton, and today at Vernon’s birthday her 100th birthday. May I say I was touched by every song you sung . I just felt like it went right through me. I know what my grandma saw in you. Thank you for giving us a blessed day. ( I’m Wayne Wilson’s niece ) Sincerely Missy
