I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior
on November 18th, 1988, and I made a decision at that
time to be the best servant for God that I could possibly
be. God has been so good and has blessed me so much since
that day. I do regret wasting so much of my life in the
world, but I know that there is no need to worry about
the past, because it has been forgiven and forgotten.
It is now my desire to go forward for Jesus Christ, and
to tell as many people as I can about His love, His mercy,
and His saving Grace.
I was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA and there were
seven children in my family. I had 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
I was blessed to have had a Christian mother and dad.
I was told of Jesus at an early age, but as many others
do, I lived in the world thinking that life couldn’t
be any fun going to church and serving God. (Boy, was
I ever wrong.)

I lost 3 brothers to Muscular Dystrophy – between
the ages of 15 to 23 years old. The first three children
in my family were fine, the next two boys had M.D., then
there was me, and I was fine, and then the youngest brother
had M.D. Eventually this dreaded disease would also
take 3 nephews from my two sisters. I have often wondered
why this happened to them and not me. I now know that
God had a purpose for my life and that purpose is to spread
the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. I saw my family
go through a lot of heartache, especially my mother. Mom
never complained, always praising her Lord, and asking
God to give her strength to take care of her family. After
the last of the boys passed away, He called Mama home.
I’m so thankful for a Mother that never stopped
praying for me.
I married Brenda on June 23, 1979 and we did not attend
church until her mother finally convinced us to visit
her church. As a result, we found our true love (The Love
of Jesus Christ). We have two children, Donnie Jr. and
Brooke. Donnie is serving in the U.S. Navy and Brooke
attends college. We worship at Temple Baptist Church in Madison Heights, VA.
I know that I am truly nothing without
Jesus Christ, but through Him all things are possible.
My prayer is that God will continue to use me and to lead
me in the way that He would have me go.
In my service for our Lord, I pray that if it’s
God's will, one day; I will have the opportunity to share
my ministry thru song with you and your church.
